The Indian International School – DSO muse shines at The Poetic Heart

Raynae Joshi, our young poet from Grade 9 captivated an audience of over 800 people with her 49-line poem at the Poetic Heart event organized in association with Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City on 9th February, 2023. The theme for the enthralling 12th edition of Poetic Heart was "Rekindling values & Co-existence".

The creative expression in this poet has always been inspired by little things around her, be it the chessboard or the sunshine at the window. However, this time it was the unshakable spirit of her dad and her unwavering faith behind his recovery from a major surgery that inspired her to compose the touching verse, ‘ICU - I See You’.

Her esteemed audience consisted of renowned dignitaries including Dr Akash Keiji Ouchi, the South Asia representative of Soka Gakkai International, engaged in the cultural and educational exchange between Japan and India and the vice-chairperson of Bharat Soka Gakkai, promoting Gandhian values through the method of “Human Revolution”. The other dignitaries were Claudio Pozzani, the Italian poet, musician and narrator, Wael Al Sayegh, an Emirati poet, athlete and businessman and Mandeera Ranthini Kosgahakumbura, the grand winner of the Dubai singing sensation in 2017.
