
National Recognition for IIS DSO Swimmer Aahana Afzal Checkar at CBSE Girls’ Swimming Championship 2025

Aahana Afzal Checkar, grade 9A, an extraordinary swimmer from The Indian International School, DSO, won national acclaim at the CBSE National (Girls) Swimming Competition 2025. Held at KIIT, Bhubaneshwar, she contested in the U-17 category against more than 600 swimmers from 200 plus schools across India and the Gulf, across five demanding events, clinching bronze medals in the 200m Breaststroke and 800m Freestyle.
Her achievement was the result of months of disciplined practice, including early morning sessions at school under expert coaching, focused technique drills, and careful race pacing. Beyond training, she willingly made certain lifestyle adjustments, following a meticulously planned diet, recovery routines, and mental preparation exercises to ensure peak performance.
