GRADE - WISE

KG 1 & KG 2
D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) was organised during this month (every week). The purpose was to give more opportunities for students to read books they want and enjoy the pleasure of reading. It also aimed to encourage families to designate a special time to drop everything and read at home either through physical books or online tools such as ‘Rosen Level Up’. It helped to increase knowledge and vocabulary.

G&T Appreciation (Pilot Run) was conducted on March 9th & 10th. Students participated in this virtual G&T-pilot project appreciation program. The section student’s part of the G&T (gifted & talented) project was through videos and their work discussed. It gave a platform to the G&T students to showcase their skills and talents. It also helped them develop their personal, social, emotional, and innovative skills making them more confident & independent learners. It was a great delight to watch the children confidently share their learning.

Year End Celebration was held on March 11th. Teachers and students had their year-end celebration virtually. All dressed up in their best attire with loads of snacks on their table to enjoy the celebration. They shared beautiful cards /videos done for their teachers and friends. They sang, danced and were part of different virtual games with their peers, organized by the teacher. It created a bond among the students and teachers as they bid goodbye to their current grade. It also gave them an opportunity to remember all the beautiful moments and days they enjoyed learning & growing together.

KG 2
Virtual Graduation Day was held on March 13th. During this online ceremony all students, parents, and teachers participated in congratulating our kindergarteners. The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the Principal & Supervisor, acknowledging their hard work and wishing them all the best for the next phase. Students and parents shared their individual recordings thanking all the members of IIS. It was put together and presented for all of them. Children also sang their graduation songs and danced their way out celebrating their success. It was an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the achievements of all our students during their kindergarten years and wishing them all the very best as they move to their next phase of learning.

Grade 1 & 2
Virtual Annual Sports Day was held on March 8th. Students participated in intra and interclass virtual fun filled challenges. They performed drill and aerobic dance that was relayed through the Virtual Annual Sports Day meet. It helped students understand the importance of sports and imbibe the importance of active lifestyle to foster healthy living.

Thematic Assembly was conducted on March 9th. Through this assembly, students were given an opportunity to share the importance of “Do the 5: Help Stop Coronavirus”. It gave them a platform to hone their public speaking and presentation skills along with creating awareness on staying safe through the pandemic.

Genius Hour Project was organised on March 9th. This project encouraged students to build on their talents and to boost self-confidence. It was a pilot run of the Gifted & Talented project where the students presented their projects to all. The event gave a platform for the selected G&T students to showcase their projects. It helped them develop their social and presentation skills along with making them learn a new skill/subject to complete their project. It was endearing to watch the journey of growth of each of the students and pleasure to see them present their learning confidently.

Grades 3 to 5
Virtual Challenge Champions League 2021 grand finale, revealing the names of the winners, was witnessed on March 9th. The virtual challenge was a successful event as all students were eagerly waiting to know the results. Students took this as an encouragement and were cheerful towards their peers. Supervisor addressed the students and wished them the best for the upcoming academic year.

Genius Hour pilot run presentation was held on March 9th. The gifted and talented students got an opportunity to present the genius hour project they have worked on during the academic year. It was a brilliant opportunity for them to shine through and present their projects. They took immense pride in presenting the projects that they worked hard on.

Open House was organised on March 24th. A parent-teacher session was arranged to discuss the academic progress of the students. A discussion with parents allowed an in depth understanding of the child’s social and academic development. It was a successful day spent talking to the parents and families face to face, which allowed the teachers & parents to have an in depth discussion about their ward.

Additional Activities and Programs

KG 1 & KG 2
Annual Sports Fiesta was held on March 1st & 3rd respectively. Playing sports helped students to develop their social skills and to set them up for positive relationship building for life. Through this virtual event, children got the chance to show leadership, teamwork and communication skills. All the students joined their section in Teams. The Sports Day was declared open by the Principal. The Supervisor addressed the students and parents. All the winners, class and division wise, were displayed and appreciated. They also participated in some fun filled activities online and ended the Sports Fiesta.

Grade 1 & 2
Year-end Celebrations were held on March 11th to bid adieu to an eventful academic year. The students and teachers got together virtually and on campus in the blended classrooms to unwind and share memories of the year that went by. The "circle of compliment" activity was held to give students an opportunity to share their compliments for their classmates and teachers. It aimed to strengthen the bonds made over the year and to encourage them to value each other.

Grades 6 to 9
Yearly Exam (online) was concluded on March 7th for grade 9 and on March 11th for grades 6 to 8. It aimed to examine how much students have understood the portion and learnt from the teaching. Students got to know where they stand through their results.

PTCS (Parent Teacher Contact Session) was organised on March 25th. Students understood their strengths and areas for improvement. One to one meeting with parents to discuss the students' learning and progress was achieved.

Grade 10
Model Exam (FTF) was concluded on March 14th. The objective for students was to determine their stream for higher education. It helped them understand how well are they prepared for Board exams and how much more they need to put in efforts to score better.
